HAMBURG - Iraq’s trade ministry purchased 50,000 tonnes of wheat to be sourced from the United States in an international tender which closed last week, European traders said.

It was purchased from trading house ADM at $320.31 a tonne c&f liner out.

The purchase had been widely anticipated as the wheat bought was the lowest price offered in the tender on Dec. 3.

But the ministry had asked for offers to remain valid up to Tuesday, Dec. 11, and also made the final purchase on Tuesday evening.
