Saudi Chemical Company Holding (SCCH) is planning to manufacture Clexane, a drug used in the treatment of thrombosis, which impacts a high percentage of COVID-19 patients with severe symptoms.

SCCH subsidiary AJA Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (AJA Pharma) signed a memorandum of understanding to consider making the Sanofi pre-filled syringes in Saudi Arabia.

The Jeddah-based company said in a statement to the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) that it would provide manufacturing facilities and systems to produce the drug and extend Clexane services into the Saudi market.

The MOU has been signed for an 18-month period.
