KUWAIT CITY - The promising results of a study showed that Kuwait will be able to pass the peak of the corona outbreak.

According to the statistical study of Professor Jihad Al-Dalal from Kuwait University, the curve of infections will descend with a noticeable decrease in the number of cases.

The computed statistics indicates the virus will stop spreading by 97 percent on June 17, indicating the peak was on May 20. The study pointed out that the number of those who recovered also increased; while the total number of infected will reach 31,000 and the average number of days for corona patients to recover declined as well.

The study predicts that the virus will stop spreading by 99 percent on June 26, confirming that the corona-related death rate in Kuwait is only 0.73 percent.

For the first time in the history of Kuwait, the streets and compounds in Salmiya were empty and deserted on Eid Al- Fitr eve due to the implementation of total curfew as part of efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus.

In previous years, it took hours for drivers to cross the Salem Al-Mubarak Street during such occasions, and more so during holidays. However, the scene on Eid Al-Fitr eve was very sad and the streets were empty.
