KUWAIT CITY: Ministry of Health has started coordinating with the Public Authority for Civil Information to update the database of information on the population in different residential areas to determine the target age groups for the preventive vaccination against coronavirus upon its availability, reports Al-Jarida daily.

Informed health sources affirmed that the updated information base will focus on the list of names of residents according to nationality, place of residence, and age group, and their distribution to different governorates and regions, in preparation for dealing with them according to the housing blocks covered by health services in each region.

They explained that the updated information will be linked with the electronic file at the primary health care centers and the preventive health centers for vaccination in different regions, amid a study concerning the use of modern programs and technologies to follow up the administration of vaccinations in the required doses, similar to modern communication programs such as the “Shlonak”, which paved the way for modern applications in the field of Public Health.

They revealed that large logistical preparations and arrangements are taking place within the Ministry of Health related to the import and storage of vaccines, in accordance with the required storage procedures, besides enumerating the doctors, nurses and health inspectors to be assigned to carry out the vaccination campaigns after receiving the necessary training on giving vaccine to the elderly.

It is intended to be given to workers in the front lines, whether the Ministry of Health workers or those of other ministries such as the Interior, Defense or National Guard, and individuals living with chronic diseases during the first phase of vaccination. Sources emphasized that children will not be covered by the preventive vaccination against COVID-19 at the beginning of the campaigns being planned at the moment, indicating the Council of Ministers has formed a higher ministerial committee headed by the Minister of Health Dr Bassel Al-Sabah to plan and implement preventive vaccination campaigns for Corona after indications of imminent commercial production of the vaccine following announcements by international companies promising results of vaccination.

Health sources expected to obtain a license for emergency usage during the next period until it is licensed to use in the prevention of Corona to put an end to its repercussions and severity, which has claimed more than a million lives and more than 50 million infections around the world so far.
