In for some laughs

Head to The Junction today, tomorrow or day after for a series of quick-fire stand-up acts at this year's Short and Sweet Comedy Fest. This is a unique opportunity to watch talented comedians perform five-minute routines at the fest that launched the careers of many renowned names in the local comedy scene.

Music festival

Abu Dhabi's private island, Zaya Nurai, is all set to play host to Nuraifest on November 22 and 23 with a variety of highly acclaimed international DJs. At NuraiFest there's something for everyone, no matter what time of the day; from pool parties to sunset beach parties, all culminating with the famous VIP Estate party and world-renowned DJs such as Audiofly, Tiga, wAFF, M.A.N.D.Y. and Serge Devant performing on both days.

Yogafest

Yoga is great for your mind, body and soul, and Yogafest returns for a weekend-long programme of yoga classes and wellness activities. Yogafest will take place in Dubai Internet City on a first-come basis from November 21-23.

The Bootleg Beatles

Relive the everlasting glory of The Beatles with the tribute band's flawless revival of the Fab Four. From looks and sound to energy and talent, you will be blown away by The Bootleg Beatles' likeness to the iconic band. Swing into the 60s with top tracks from the album and a little help from a live orchestral ensemble for a night to remember tonight at Dubai Opera.

Whodunnit

The iconic Queen Elizabeth 2's own 'Speak Easy' - the Grand Lounge will host Murder At The Speakeasy - A Real Dubai Whodunnit this weekend. Infamous bootlegger Dutch Schultz has opened a new speakeasy and the Blind Tiger Club has now arrived in Dubai, to give his girlfriend Lulu a place to sing, but rival singer Rosie is very jealous. One victim will fall and it's anybody's guess who is guilty. The Grand Lounge at QE2 is the perfect location for a murder on November 21 and 22.

Frozen brunch

To celebrate the return of the Snow Queen, Swissotel Al Ghurair has launched a Frozen themed brunch. The Play House brunch will be available only on Friday at Dhs179 for adults and Dhs99 for kids between 6-12 years. You'll also get complimentary movie tickets at Reel Cinemas Al Ghurair Centre.

Musical maestros

Bollywood musical duo Vishal and Shekhar are all set to bring an entertaining night of magical music to Global Village on Friday at 9pm. Playing live at the Main Stage area, India's most famous music composers, producers and songwriters will thrill their Dubai fans this weekend.

Art Karat's latest

Numaish presents Art Karat's latest collection 'Tanjore', inspired by the ancient city of Thanjavur. This collection is a South Indian collage of art and jewellery with a mix of workmanship from temple to Kundan, pave to embossed golden and Hyderabadi pearls. It includes a beautiful range of necklaces, long earrings, bracelets, bajubandhs, tikas, rings and pins. More than 1000 designs have been created for this exhibition. Meet the designer Asha Kamal Modi, founder of Art Karat who has specially created masterpieces for the Tanjore collection filled with exquisite semi precious jewelry, and witness one of Art Karat's best and beautiful collections on Friday and Saturday at the Taj Dubai from 11am to 8pm.
