AMMAN The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) on Saturday announced offering 12 scholarships for top General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi) achievers whose averages are above 95 per cent.

The CBJ, in a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, said that the scholarships will be equally distributed among the Kingdoms 12 governorates for BA degrees in economics specialisations as of the first semester of the 2019/2020 academic year, providing that beneficiaries will work for the CBJ after graduation.

CBJ Governor Ziad Fariz said that the initiative seeks to create a distinguished generation of economic experts in the Kingdom. Fariz noted that the new initiative does not only cover tuition fees but also offers practical training on economic concepts at the CBJ and other economic institutions.
