MANAMA: A major international airline has started accepting Covid-19 test results from all Bahrain government-approved hospitals, following an outcry.

The GDN reported exclusively yesterday that Bahrain passengers expressed outrage after Etihad Airways said it was accepting pre-flight Covid-19 test results only from an “approved facility” in the kingdom.

According to claims, around 80 per cent of the passengers booked on Sunday’s flight to Abu Dhabi-Geneva were turned back because they had not done their tests at Bahrain Specialist Hospital.

However, the airline updated the ‘Travel Guidelines and Regulations’ on its website yesterday, saying Bahrain passengers can now get their tests done at any of the hospitals approved by the National Health Regulatory Authority.

These include Bahrain Specialist Hospital, Ibn Al Nafees Hospital, Al Kindi Hospital, Royal Bahrain Hospital, Al Salam Specialist Hospital, American Mission Hospital, Dr Tariq Hospital, Noor Specialist Hospital, Awali Hospital, King Abdullah Medical City and Middle East Hospital.
