RIYADH — The spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce Abdul Rahman Al-Hussein stated that the ministry is monitoring the prices of products at the stores, before and after discounts, to detect frauds.

Al-Hussein confirmed that the consumers should be aware of their rights and the importance of ensuring the real prices and seasonal discounts in markets and electronic stores.

Al-Hussein explained that the Ministry of Commerce required stores to obtain a license to present offers and discounts and to place them in a place that helps the consumer to verify it.

Setting the percentage of the discount and the price of the product before and after the discount is important, he added.

He added that "Takhfedat" application "GetSales" helps the consumer to read the discount code (barcode) clarify the complete product data, and ensure the validity of the offers.

In addition, consumers can go to the website of the Ministry of Commerce and the “Maroof” website for checking online stores.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Commerce has provided an electronic service to issue licenses for discounts for commercial establishments

Al-Hussein noted that the Ministry of Commerce monitors the prices of products before and after discounts and offers to detect & deter frauds on the consumers.
