Muscat: A 20 percent surcharge will soon be applicable for services provided by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) through Invest easy.

His Excellency Dr. Ali Al Sunaidi, Minister of Commerce and Industry, issued a Ministerial Decision No. 191/2019 to impose a fee on services offered through the electronic system “Invest easy”.

Article 1 of the decision states that “fees are charged for services provided through the electronic system Invest Easy, amounting to 20 percent of the fees legally prescribed for those services. The fees shall be a minimum of OMR 20 and a maximum of OMR 500."

Article II states, “This decision shall be published in the Official Gazette and shall come into force from the day following its publication”.

This decision was based on the Royal Decree No. 11/2017 defining the terms of reference of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and approving its organizational structure, and the approval of the Ministry of Finance.

Previously, MOCI announced that during Eid holiday more than 2,000 people complete their business transactions across Invest Easy electronic system.
