The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has unveiled a business relief package to support tenants in its cultural and heritage properties amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The relief measures include exemption from fines for delayed payment of property rents, effective March 15 and deferred rent payment for three months, starting from the beginning of April. The authority is also considering extending rental contracts for a renewable period of three months.

The relief package complements support measures launched by the UAE to reduce pressures on the business sector and boost the national economy in the current global economic situation.

The total value of stimulus packages introduced by the UAE since the coronavirus outbreak has amounted to 126.5 billion UAE dirhams.

The country has also implemented a series of precautionary measures to stem the spread of the coronavirus. Schools, malls, cafes and restaurants have been shut, while all inbound, outbound and transit flights have been temporarily cancelled, as residents are being urged to stay indoors.

The UAE confirmed 241 new cases of coronavirus infection on Saturday, taking the total number of cases in the country to 1505.
