Bahrain - Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa yesterday issued an order banning gatherings of more than five people in public places, including roads, streets, squares, beaches and parks.
Violators will face a prison term of no more than three years and a maximum fine of BD5,000, or both.
The order is one of the decisions taken by the government executive committee chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
It is also part of measures taken by all state institutions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
The ministry urged all citizens and residents to abide by measures related to banning gatherings to contain the virus and ensure public safety. Violators will face legal action.
