The Health Ministry took action against 38 restaurants and cafes on Saturday for violating mandatory precautionary measures which were announced by the National Taskforce for Combating Covid-19, approved by the Executive Committee.

A restaurant has been shut down for one week.

The Food Control Section at the Public Health Directorate visited 192 restaurants and cafes and referred the outlets found in breach of the precautionary measures to legal authorities.

The Health Ministry co-ordinated the clampdown with the Interior Ministry and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, to ensure compliance with the precautionary measures and protocols.

Owners whose outlets were warned removed the irregularities immediately in compliance with the precautionary measures.
