Kuwait’s inflation rose by 1.15% year-on-year (YoY) in July 2019, according to the data showed by Kuwait’s Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) on Tuesday.

Month-on-month (MoM), the consumer price index (CPI) went up by 0.26% in July 2019 to 114.4 points, the data indicated. Kuwait’s CPI registered an annual increase in all groups, except for the housing services which edged down by 0.78%.

The telecommunications group was the top advancer in the CPI with 4.79% YoY, followed by the transportation group with 4.68%, while the basket of various goods and services registered the least increase of 0.56%.

On a monthly basis, five out of twelve groups rose during July, headed by the foods and beverage basket with 1.2%, while the remaining seven groups stablised when compared to June.
