Kuwait - Annual inflation in Kuwait rose 0.18% on a year-on-year and month-on-month basis in October, data released by Kuwait’s Central Statistics Bureau (CSB) on Wednesday showed.

The inflation measure known as the consumer price index (CPI) registered 113.3 in October, up from 113.1 in both October 2017 and September 2018.

Ten segments contributed to the year-on-year rise, led by cigarettes and tobacco products, which jumped 13.5%, whereas only two segments were down, namely clothing and footwear, and housing services.

Month-on-month, the prices of six items increased, led by telecommunications, which added 0.57%, while clothing and footwear, and diverse services decreased, the CSB said, adding that four segments remained unchanged.
