Kuwait - Trade exchange between the Netherlands and Kuwait reached around $2 billion, the Dutch ambassador to the GCC nation said.

The Netherlands’ exports to Kuwait hit $800 million, while Kuwaiti crude oil exports to the European nation amounted to KWD 1.2 billion, Frans Potuyt added, according to Al Anba newspaper.

Potuyt further noted that the Netherlands will focus its investments in the GCC and Kuwait in three sectors over the coming years; namely, water, energy, and food, which will contribute to developing and achieving Kuwait Vision for 2035.

The construction of Silk City in Kuwait may witness a collaboration between the two nations, he said, voicing the keenness of the Dutch firms to work in this megaproject.

The Dutch official also lauded Kuwaiti citizens’ choice for the Netherlands as a touristic destination, in addition to purchasing properties in the Dutch country, which in return boosts mutual relations.
