AMMAN — The consumer price index (inflation) rate rose 0.07 per cent in the first quarter of the year to 101.78 points compared with 101.71 points for the same period of 2020, the Department of Statistics (DoS) said on Monday.

In its monthly report, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, DoS said that the index for March went up by 0.16 per cent to 102.21, compared with 102.05 in the same month last year. At the monthly level, the price index was up by 0.29 per cent in March to 102.21, compared with 101.91 in February, the department noted.

On the cumulative level, the basic consumer price index for first quarter months of the year was 69.04, compared with 68.24 in the same period last year, recording an increase of 1.17 per cent, the DoS figures showed.
