UAE: The UAE was placed among the top ten countries in the world in 18 global competitiveness energy indices during 2020, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

The UAE ranked first in the "getting electricity" list of the World Bank's "Ease of Doing Business 2020" report, according to the cited Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority (FCSA).

The competitiveness report 2020 of INSEAD Institute placed the UAE in the first position in terms of electricity production and tenth in the sanitation sector.

In addition, the IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook 2020 has listed the UAE in the first place in terms of water consumption, seventh in fuel prices, and fourth in the total domestic energy production relative to the population.

The Legatum Institute also ranked the UAE first in the world in terms of the number of residents with access to electricity, sixth in water production, and tenth in the design capacity to produce electricity.
