MANAMA: National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) chief executive Dr Mariam Al Jalahma announced a plan to set up a stem cells bank project in Bahrain soon with an Indian investment.

Final formalities are underway prior to approval from the Supreme Council for Health, she said.

It is the latest request for the establishment of a specialised medical project the NHRA has received this year, she said.

Procedures are ongoing to set up three factories to manufacture medical syringes, drugs and capsules.

The projects were suspended for investment reasons but have now been resumed, she said, adding the authority’s website will attract more local and foreign investments in specialised medical projects.
