Kuwait-headquartered industrial project developer and contractor Kharafi National is working on projects worth 1.4 billion Egyptian pounds ($88 million) across various sectors in Egypt, a top company executive said.

Executive manager Elia Saber told Zawya Projects that the company is scheduled to deliver this year a 500kv substation project in West Damietta worth 500 million pounds ($31.6 million) in partnership with Chinese contractors Shandong Taikai and NHVS.

He said other ongoing projects include total facility management and infrastructure works contracts totaling 650 million pounds ($41.08 million) for Madinat Nasr for Housing & Development (MNHD) for their Taj Sultan and Sarai residential projects respectively; a 140 million pounds ($8.8 million) infrastructure works contract for Emaar Misr's Marassi development on the North Coast, and a 9,000 cubic metres/day compact wastewater treatment project worth 140 million pounds ($8.8 million) for Mostakbal Company for Urban Development.

Saber said the company's Egypt order book for 2020 covering engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), facility management and infrastructure contracts stands at about 2.5 billion pounds ($158 million) compared to 1.8 billion ($113.8 million) in 2019.
