Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (INALUM) to help the Indonesian company to benefit from EGA aluminium smelting technology in its expansion plans, according to Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The agreement targets the licencing of EGA technology to INALUM, the development of the existing INALUM aluminium smelter, and the establishment of a new one in Indonesia.

The MoU was inked by managing director of EGA, Abdulla Kalban, and president director of INALUM, Orias Petrus Moedak.

Kalban said, "EGA’s technology is proven both in the UAE and internationally, and we believe that we can make a big contribution to the success of INALUM’s expansion plans, and potentially even in future a vertically-integrated alumina refinery, to the benefit of both our countries."

Meanwhile, Moedak remarked, “I am pleased that we have developed a strong and cooperative relationship with EGA which has now led to the signing of this MoU. At INALUM, we are looking forward to deepening our work with EGA and to potentially deploying EGA’s technology in Indonesia."
