MANAMA: With the global headwinds, volatile LME price and weak economic sentiment across the markets, Alba remains committed to ensuring the safety of its employees and contractors; achieving its production target of more than 1.54 million tonnes by 2020 and continuing as a lean aluminium producer by building on the legacy of its cost-improvement programme - Project Titan.

On the occasion, Alba chief executive Ali Al Baqali said: “Alba can only control what is intrinsic to its operations i.e. safety, production and cost.

In light of the current circumstances, we have activated our response strategy to ensure the safety of our people and continuity of our operations.”

The company official said it has been proactive in adopting many safety initiatives across all departments following the guidelines of the government and respected health organisations.

“We also remain focused, through our resilient capabilities, to ensure continuous and sustainable supply of our raw materials to run our operations smoothly all the while deliver our products to clientele across the globe,” added Mr Al Baqali.
