MANAMA: Property owners attended the first annual general assembly of Amwaj Islands’ Central Owners Association.

The event was held at the Art Rotana Hotel, and chaired by Ossis vice chairman Jameel Al Matrook in the presence of members and officials from Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA).

RERA chief executive Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said the formation of the Amwaj Central Owners Association is a milestone for owners’ associations.

“The authority has been actively encouraging owners of real estate units in projects with common parts to establish owners’ associations,” said Shaikh Mohammed.

“It is in their long-term interest and will assist in protecting their investment by participating in creating such owners associations, electing the board of directors, determining service fees and how the properties are managed,” Shaikh Mohammed added.
