RIYADH -- The Riyadh Mayoralty on Sunday launched an initiative, in cooperation with five major hypermarkets, to deliver essential goods to customers in vehicles at designated locations. Customers from all part of the capital city can take advantage of the delivery service offered by 33 branches of these hypermarkets. They are the following: 9 branches of Al-Sadhan; eight branches of Panda; six branches of SPAR; five branches each of Al-Jazeera Market and Al-Othaim Markets.

Under the arrangements, customers can contact the nearest branches of these stores by sending the list of their requirements through WhatsApp. They should also send details of their car such as number plate, model and color of vehicle. The concerned branch of the hypermarkets will send text message to the customers, informing them to take delivery of goods after reaching directly in their cars at the designated point of delivery near their homes.

The mayoralty said that the initiative is part of its precautionary measures to stem the spread of coronavirus, and a sense of societal responsibility to provide services to the beneficiaries as well as preventing overcrowding in light of the partial curfew imposed from 3 p.m. to 6 a.m.
