Investors on Monday were putting a chance of more than 50% on the Bank of England pausing its run of interest rate increases this week as financial markets remained volatile following the Swiss government-backed takeover by UBS of Credit Suisse.

Interest rate futures suggested the likelihood of no change in Bank Rate on March 23 was about 56% at 0817 GMT. Bets on a quarter-percentage point rate hike stood at about 44%.

Earlier this month, the chance of a BoE rate hike pause was seen around 10%. (Reporting by William Schomberg, Editing by Kylie MacLellan)
