Greece's annual EU-harmonised inflation rose sharply in May, data from the country's statistics service ELSTAT showed on Thursday.

The reading was 10.5% year-on-year from 9.1% in April.

EU-harmonised inflation is an index of components that is used across the EU to measure inflation in a consistent way.

Greece's headline consumer inflation also accelerated to 11.3% last month from 10.2% in April, the data showed. (Reporting by George Georgiopoulos)
