Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced on Sunday that construction work on its 30 million imperial gallons (MIG) water reservoir project in Hatta is 76.8 percent complete.

The DFM-listed utility said in a press statement that structural foundation works for all facilities and reservoirs are 100 percent complete.

It said above-ground works are 85 percent complete, and nearly 98 percent of the pipes have been laid.

The 86 million UAE dirham project ($23 million), which comprises of two water reservoirs, is expected to be completed in April 2023.

DEWA is building two additional water reservoirs, one in the Nakhali area, and second in the Lusaily area with a total combined capacity of 180 MIG.
