Global property developer Select Group in joint venture with Emirates Strategic Investments Company (ESIC) has acquired a 17,919.24 square metre (sqm) land plot on the Palm Jumeirah’s West Crescent from man-made island’s developer Nakheel, it was announced on Wednesday.
The JV already owned an adjacent land plot of 47,474 sqm, bringing its total prime beach front development area spanning over 65,410 sqm, Nakheel said in a press statement.
The plot, located between the luxury developments of the One & Only and W Hotel Palm Jumeirah, is one of the last few remaining beachfront plots in Dubai, the statement said.
Select Group is expected to develop a managed community comprising of an ultra-luxury boutique hotel and branded residential homes on the acquired plot, the statement said.
The statement said the developer is expected to announce the hospitality operator and architects for the project “within weeks” with breaking of ground slated before the end of the year, and project completion scheduled to be within three years.
