Al-Zubair City in Iraq's Basra Governorate has completed the basic design for an industrial city within a national programme of establishing industrial projects, a Basra municipality official said.

The mayor of Zubair Abbas Maher told Zawya Projects that the project would be funded by bank loans and will create employment opportunities for the youth.

He added the project would be sent to the Ministry of Planning for final approval in coordination with the Parliament's Economy and Investment Committee.
