Advanced Armour Engineering (AAE), a British owned and managed steel fabrication company based in the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone), has rented additional land in the Zone at an investment of more than 20 million UAE dirhams ($5 million) as part of its expansion plans.

SAIF Zone said in a statement that the company, which has based its MENA operations in the Zone since 2016, rented an additional land covering 19,500 square feet, taking its total area to 67,500 sq. ft, to enhance its production capacity.

Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of SAIF Zone said AAE’s decision to expand was a step in the right direction and reflects SAIF Zone’s excellence in developing infrastructure suitable for the iron and steel sector.

Simon Hurst, General Manager of Advanced Armour Engineering said: "AAE made its mind to expand in the free zone following the growing demand for the services we provide in the defense and industry sectors, including steel processing of laser cutting, bending, welding & painting of blast and ballistic steel components for armoured vehicle manufacturers."

AAE has already manufactured supplied welded and painted armoured cabins to the UK, USA, South Africa, India, UAE and Indonesia and is currently manufacturing steel components for the global defence and security market.
