Qatar Gas Transport Company (Nakilat), the world’s largest LNG shipping fleet owner, has awarded a long-term service agreement to South Korea’s HSD Engine to provide spares and maintenance services for its wholly owned LNG vessels. 

The agreement aims to improve the operational efficiency of the vessels’ engines and contribute to the overall LNG fleet availability.

Nakilat’s CEO Abdullah Al-Sulaiti said that the company’s priority is to increase the operational efficiency of its vessels and maintain the highest reliability and safety standards as it expands its reach in the global gas shipping market.

The value and period of the agreement were not disclosed.

The Qatar Stock Exchange-listed Nakilat has 69 LNG vessels. In addition, the company operates the ship repair, industrial and offshore fabrication facilities at Erhama Bin Jaber Al Jalahma Shipyard in Ras Laffan Industrial City via strategic joint ventures.
