Bioenergy Association, NBK Egypt ink MoU to support set-up of biogas plant in Assiut

Egypt - Bioenergy Association for Sustainable Development (BASD) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt (NBK) to bolster the establishment of a central biogas plant in Assiut, according to a statement by the Ministry of Environment on January 31st.

The plant is set to serve 150 beneficiaries across the governorate, the statement added.

The MoU signing took place on National Environment Day and was witnessed by the environment minister Yasmine Fouad.

This project marks an inspiration for uniting the efforts of the government, the public sector, and the banking sector in the field of bioenergy generation, the minister said.
