Morocco’s Rail Maroc project will need an investment of 400 billion Moroccan dirhams ($38 billion), according to local media reports. Minister of Transport and Logistics Mohamed Abdeljalil said the government will need investments from both public and private sectors, Morocco World News reported, citing local French newspaper TelQuel.

The new railway will have over 3,800 kilometres (km) of medium-speed and over 1,300 km high-speed tracks.

The lines will run between Tangier to Agadir and from Oujda to Rabat, the report said.
