The Kenyan government will use the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to complete the majority of 910 billion Kenyan shillings ($7.41 billion) worth of road projects yet to be constructed, state-run Kenya Broadcasting Corporation reported, citing Roads Transport and Public Works Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.

He said that only 135 billion shillings of committed road projects across the country had been completed as contractors are worried over unpaid bills.

The official noted that the 70-billion-shilling Nairobi Expressway is the only road project in the country to be tolled after being constructed under a PPP model and will act as a lesson in implementing the remaining projects, particularly Mombasa-Nairobi road, Nyali Bridge, Likoni Bridge.
