Global Medical City (GMC), an integrated healthcare project in Nasr City, Egypt, has commenced operations, a press statement by UAE-based investment company Yas Holding said.

The project is a partnership between Global Medical Solutions International (GMSI), a subsidiary of Yas Holding Group, and the Supreme Council of Al-Azhar represented by Al-Azhar University, Cairo.

“Yas Holding’s ultimate goal for GMC is to advance patient-centric care, deliver safe and quality integrated medical services. We are adding overall value to Egypt’s healthcare system through our portfolio of services and expertise in healthcare and advanced technologies to treat and serve GMC patients and by creating more jobs” said Low Ping, Group Chief Executive Officer at Yas Holding.

Spanning over 21 acres in the heart of Nasr City, GMC will comprise of more than 600 beds, 26 operating theatres, and 62 specialised outpatient clinics, in addition to specialised medical centres and facilities, isolation units catering to different medical needs and specialties, including cardiology, oncology, physiotherapy, endoscopy, dialysis, and dentistry.
