Flying all the way from Boston, USA, world-renowned Martial Arts Master Dr Yang Jwing-Ming is in town to host special courses in Long Fist, Chin Na and Taijiquan from Thursday to Tuesday.

Dr Yang is world-famous for his expertise in various forms of combat-sports, offering Doha visitors a welcome dose of knowledge and experience in the discipline.

Yang's Martial Arts Association was established in Massachusetts in 1984 to preserve traditional Chinese Kung Fu and Qigong and introduce them to the West.

As well as conducting 10 seminars throughout the world each year, Dr Yang has also published an extensive, resourceful list of books, articles, DVDs and videos; work that has been translated into French, Italian, Spanish, Polish and Russian.

Each person who attends the seminars in the ASPIRE Dome will receive a First Stripe Certificate upon graduation on day six.

The Kung Fu Long Fist seminar will take place from 3-5pm, with Chin Na being held from 6-8pm and Taijiquan from 8:30-10:30pm all six days. Dr Yang will also co-host a Martial Arts Demonstration on Monday 17th at 11am in the Sports Dome.

The seminars represent the latest addition to the ASPIRE Active calendar and help to ensure the Academy is increasingly providing health and fitness opportunities for every taste and preference within the Qatar community.

As well as producing top athletes, the Academy is rapidly expanding its sports provision to Qatar, hosting all manner of classes and fitness activities to cater to the diverse elements of the nation's population.

ASPIRE Active Course Director said: "We're very excited to host one of the world's most respected martial arts experts at ASPIRE and we hope that as many people as possible take this opportunity to get involved."

"The seminars represent another feather in ASPIRE Active's cap and create even greater health and fitness opportunities for the people of Qatar at the Academy."
