Madinat Zayed, Abu Dhabi, 16 July 2008: The Western Region Municipality held their Senior Management Strategy Update meeting yesterday. H.E. Hamoud Humaid Al Mansouri, General Manager, Western Region Municipality chaired the progressive forum that stimulated knowledge sharing and encouraged more effective departmental delivery of quality driven municipal services.
The meeting, attended by WRM's 40 senior level managers, took place at Danat Resort Jebel Dhanna located on the Western coast of Abu Dhabi.
H.E. Hamoud Humaid Al Mansouri, General Manager, Western Region Municipality, discussed several of the key accomplishments of the Western Region since its inception one year ago. "We can be immensely proud of our accomplishments and the Western Region Municipality has come very far in a very short interval in responding to customer expectations." "The strategic importance of the Western Region and its contribution as an economic driver to the prosperity, growth and development of the United Arab Emirates is enormous," he added. "As the Western Region Municipality grows we would like to ensure our senior level managers are equipped with the appropriate tools, resources and support for delivering efficient service," said H.E. Hamoud Humaid AL Mansouri, General Manager - Western Region Municipality.
The meeting began with a thorough review and affirmation of accomplishments delivered by each Section Manager, followed by an examination of refocused, customer driven strategic initiatives. Subsequently, an organizational review was conducted to highlight how WRM can enhance its organizational effectiveness and responsiveness, in response to customer needs.
The Western Region Municipality has successfully implemented a significant recruitment drive that has seen over 130 employees joining this new organization; the launch of multiple, customer service Tamm Centers that afford one-stop shopping for municipal services to residents of the Region, and an IT infrastructure development initiative which shall enable the Municipality to offer customer-driven, automated business solutions.
H.E. Hamoud Humaid AL Mansouri, General Manager, Western Region Municipality, presented five managers with an incentive reward for initiating constructive, customer based service ideas during an intensive exercise focused on creativity and innovation.

About Western Region Municipality:
The Municipal office located in Madinat Zayed, west of Abu Dhabi city, was established in May 2006 under H.H Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed AL Nahyan. Under the umbrella of the newly formed Department of Municipal Affairs, the Western Region Municipality offers services to Madinat Zayed, Mirfa, Liwa, Sila, Ghayathi and Dalma.
