The who's who of global luxury to gather in Dubai for Arab Luxury World on June 2 and 3, 2014
Dubai, UAE, May 6, 2014: Arab luxury World, the first conference dedicated to the business of luxury in the Middle East, will take place on June 2 and 3 at the Westin Mina Seyahi Dubai. Organized by Mediaquest, the event will bring together hundreds of industry leaders and experts, brands and manufacturers, marketers and advertisers from around the world, with the aim to provide an engaging platform to present and discuss the outlook, challenges and opportunities of the regional luxury sector.
The Middle East, which is already home to some of the most dynamic and thriving economies, is also fast becoming a leading luxury market, with Dubai already established as a luxury hub for the region. Middle Eastern consumers have the highest per capita spending on luxury goods, at approximately $1,900 per year, while the total market, which was recently valued at $7.7 billion, is estimated to reach $15 billion as Dubai readies to host the World Expo 2020 (Bain & Co, 2013).
Moreover, the region boasts 500,000 high-net-worth individuals, with assets exceeding $1.8 trillion, and a penchant for a variety of luxury goods, from hard luxury (watches and jewelry) to soft luxury (fragrances and accessories ), as well as cars, private jets, super yachts, holiday homes and prestigious real estate.
"This is an exciting and decisive time for the luxury industry and the Middle East market, as both are undergoing transformative changes," says Julien Hawari, Co-CEO of Mediaquest Corp. "The aim of the Arab Luxury World conference is to bring together, for the first time, relevant global forces of the luxury market face-to-face with local talent and regional players to share insights, debate ideas and solutions to the many challenges that lie ahead for the business of luxury, such as a lack of data, changing business models and a paucity of knowledge," adds Hawari.
The two-day event is packed with keynote addresses, panel discussions, breakout sessions and workshops, as well as numerous networking opportunities. All of which will offer conference attendees, who are key decision makers across development, retail, marketing, advertising and branding, a competitive edge, by connecting them to critical information and knowledge shaping the luxury economy in the years ahead.
The Arab Luxury World conference will focus on a wide array of industries, from fashion & accessories to beauty, cars, arts & culture and tourism, and will cover a lot of ground relevant to luxury players today and even more so in the future: retail models, e-commerce, customers and shopping experience, branding and marketing, to name but a few.
