The world famous California Superbike School, which teaches all level of motorcycle riders the art of cornering with confidence, has switched over to the KTM Super Duke street bike. The bikes where used for the first time during the latest session held last Friday at the Dubai Autodrome, with the participation of over 60 bike enthusiasts from across the country.

"Supporting the Superbike School is a logical and simple step for KTM's excellent street bike range," commented Tim Trenker, Managing Director, KTM UAE. "The school's instructors need a fast street bike that is easy to ride and quick enough to keep up with the students on the circuit regardless of what bike they ride.  The Super Duke is the perfect tool for this."

The California Superbike School uses both the classroom and the race track to teach riders how to corner better and safer.  With one of the lowest rider to instructor ratios of any riding school in the world, the academy has been responsible for teaching over 100,000 students across the world, including a number of famous racers and celebrities.

The day consists of five on-track sessions and five classroom sessions with the experienced instructors.  The school is open to any level of rider, from new riders to seasoned racers and on any type of motorcycle, including cruisers, sports bikes and tourers.

"I am delighted that KTM are now helping us with the UAE's school," said Andy Ibbott, School Director UK, California Superbike School. "Our instructors needed both reliability and ease-of-use for their bikes during the school day and the KTM Super Duke delivered that perfectly for us."

KTM's Super Duke is a 999cc V-twin naked street bike that produces 120hp and weighs in at just 186kgs.  Built entirely in KTM's Austrian assembly plant, the Super Duke has proved highly popular across Europe for both city riders and track day enthusiasts.

KTM re-launched its operations in the region in December 2007, by opening a temporary showroom just off Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai. The company, which is a joint venture between KTM Austria and the Al Shafer group of companies, sells a full range of both street and off-road bikes, as well as the company's wide range of riding and lifestyle accessories.
