Dubai, UAE: H.E Eng. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Minister of Development for Government Sector, Chairman of General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) signed two AED 81m contracts with the Raytheon Company and with Park Air Systems on Wednesday 13th September 2006 for Sheikh Zayed Centre for the Air Navigation Services which will be built within 14 months in Abu Dhabi.
The Raytheon AutoTrac III (AT3) product will provide the Area Control Centre (ACC) and Emergency Area Control Centre (EACC) with the Operational Air Picture and Associated functionality. It will provide software and hardware for 16 sectors in ACC and 10 sectors in EACC for civil and military use.
The System allows the Operational Air Picture to be set up into sectors for individual Air Traffic Controllers to control aircraft in their allocated airspace with maximum safety. The system is fully flexible and fully redundant and can be expanded as required to match the expansion of the Air Traffic Control expansion.
Another contract signed by H.E in same day with Park Air Systems UK. This contract is for the Integrated Communications System, the complete Voice Communications requirements for the ACC and EACC. The System provided digital voice communication from the microphone to the antennas with no analogue conversions. This is a major technological achievement and had has been selected by NATS in UK.
