Under the theme 'Transforming the Future of Medicine in the MENA region for Superior Healthcare Outcomes'

Oman will be hosting its first ever MED2020 forum to showcase the best of know-how and medical practices in the world of medicine. The forum will be a two-day event, scheduled for October 26th and 27th at the InterContinental Hotel Muscat. It is open to physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, administrators as well as to the public.

Organised under the theme 'Transforming the Future of Medicine in the MENA region for Superior Healthcare Outcomes', the event aims to create a platform for the sharing of knowledge and experience from global advancements in medicine. The conference strives to leverage international excellence in the fields of medicine to meet challenges that practitioners in the field face today.

This forum is specifically designed, not only to share knowledge and discuss the new and exciting innovations in medicine, but also to transform this knowledge and innovation into actionable programs that could be easily and rapidly implemented. The health of any population can be improved only through the implementation of transformational models of care which will result in exceptional health outcomes," says Dr. Rabi F. "The theme of this year's forum is designed to bring attendees up to speed on the latest advancements in healthcare in relation to new and innovative therapies as well as patient and practice management," says Mr. Jamil Sultan, Director, W.J. Towell Group, organisers of the event. He emphasises the forum's significance against the backdrop of sweeping changes and developments in Oman's expanding healthcare industry. "The hospitals in Oman generally provide high quality health care; the standard of care in the public sector is high for a middle-income country. Most of the largest and most advanced hospitals and healthcare centers are located in Muscat, such as the Royal Hospital of Oman and the Sultan Qaboos University Hospital. And while the nation's medical industry cannot be compared to other more developed countries, the government is trying to develop this sector and encourage students to study medicine; we now have an accredited medical university," he says.

The conference has been designed to include a unique gathering of global medical experts with specialisations in the fields of cardiology, metabolic syndromes, blood disorders, anti-aging, pediatrics, trauma and critical care and global health. Professionals and medical practitioners from all over the world will participate in the event to share important insight into some of medicine's most path-breaking discoveries. Topics on the agenda range from management of metabolic syndromes, trauma and emergency medical systems, advances in monitoring and management of the critically ill, to population health and managing obesity, stem cell research, breakthrough interventions and telemedicine.
