A Presentation of World Gold Council and L'Azurde Jewellery Group
Dubai, U.A.E 19 Nov. 2006 - The gala jewellery show and dinner party held recently to celebrate the finale of the 4th Pan-Arab Gold Jewellery Design Contest was a huge success. Delegates from the World Gold Council, and L'Azurde graced the event with their presence and officially announced the names of the nine lucky and deserving winners from all the categories including the special awardees which came from countries like UAE, Egypt, Kuwait, Syria and Saudi Arabia.
The Jewellery show was held in the opulent Creek Ballroom of Park Hyatt. The ambience of the place was simple yet elegant and the colour motif this time was gold. Right from the stage, backdrop, curtains, table cloths and chair covers, everything was covered in precious gold. Some of last year's winning designs were displayed on beautifully dressed-up mannequins, which further added to the regal feel of the event. The party started off with a cocktail reception at the pre-function area. Delegates attending the party included Sheikhs, VVIPs, VIPs, diplomats, representatives from South Africa, London and Kuwait.
The programme started with a short welcome message from the presenter, who thanked the guests for joining the hosts of the event at one of the most lavish parties in town. The Jewellery show followed immediately with a sensational performance by a belly dancer and the melodious Arabic music blended perfectly with the setting.
On the ramp, the models showcased this year's winning designs which included a skirt, bra, full body piece, head piece, scarf. All the winning pieces were manufactured exclusively by the leading designing company L'Azurde. The models wore different outfits in brown, black and bright shades that made the beautiful designs stand out.
During the press conference earlier the day, a presentation was made by AngloGold Ashanti to introduce "AuDitions", its long running international contest. Starting next year, Pan-Arab Jewellery Design Contest will form part of AuDitions which will further enhance the standard of this project. The World Gold Council, L'Azurde and AGA will be a part of this project.
Last but not the least was a special performance by Nawal Al Zoghbi. She enthralled the audiences with her four foot-tapping numbers and received the applause she so deserves.
Immediately after the show, the awarding ceremony took place and the dignitaries from WGC and L'Azurde handed over the golden trophies with certificates and special gifts to all the winners while each faced the audience with their corresponding winning designs posing with the models.
