Tawazun Holding hosted today the 1st Local Industrial Suppliers Forum, which counts as one of the initiatives of the National Defense Contractors Council and Tawazun, bringing together the major manufacturing and supplying entities in the UAE, who can benefit from each other in terms of manufacturing capabilities.
In his keynote speech, Matar Ali Al Romaithi, Chief Officer of the Industrial Development Unit at Tawazun Economic Council, underlined the vital relationship between the manufacturing and industrial supplying sectors in the UAE.
“As a fast growing country, we have been set on a drive for a comprehensive and sustainable development, to support the economic growth of the UAE,” he said.
Al Romaithi highlighted the Tawazun Economic Council’s journey from creation in 1992, saying that to date, the program had facilitated creation of over 60 projects with a total investment of more than AED 10 billion.
Ahmed Saeed Al Nayeli, Director of Business Development and Marketing at Tawazun, said in his welcoming speech that the forum counts as part of Tawazun’s strategic initiatives to promote the industrial partnerships in the UAE.
“We have always sought to build constructive long-term, partnerships with our stakeholders as we aspire to contribute to realizing the vision of the United Arab Emirates for a strong industrial sector, driven by knowledge, technology and competitiveness,” added Al Nayeli.
Al Nayeli had also shed the lights on the main objectives of holding this forum in developing the local suppliers’ capabilities, and to have them empowered and connected with the stakeholders and end users. In addition, this event would facilitate the government organizations’ support to the suppliers which would in return help them reach international standards and contribute to the UAE’s economic growth.
The Forum saw presentations by representatives of major Emirati organizations engaged in the manufacturing and supplying activities, including the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi, NDCC, Tawazun Industrial Park, Khalifa Fund, Dubai SMEs, Strata, Nimr Automotive and Tawazun Dynamics.

About National Defense Contractors Council
The National Defense Contractors Council (NDCC) was established by Tawazun Economic Council in 2014.

It also aims to realize effective communication among national companies operating in defense sectors in order to identify their needs and requirements, facilitate the exchange expertise, knowledge and know-how, promote investment and attract local and foreign capitals in defense manufacturing sectors.
