Cairo, Egypt – talabat Mart announces its expansion to three more cities besides Greater Cairo, the online grocery shopping service is now present in Alexandria, Tanta and Mansoura. The expansion of talabat Mart coincides with the launch of its special back-to-school promotions.

Reeling off the success of Egypt’s leading food delivery app, talabat Mart offers quick and safe delivery of groceries sourced from dark stores, also known as virtual or delivery-only stores, in just 20 minutes. “As a customer-centric and product-led company, we are working tirelessly to expand into more cities as it brings us closer to a wider customer base and helps us meet their daily needs with our agile tech-enabled services,” talabat Egypt’s Managing Director Hadeer Shalaby said in a statement.

The expansion of talabat Mart to other Egyptian cities coincides with special back-to-school promotions that offer up to 40% discounts on a wide variety of school supplies, such as notebooks and stationery, in addition to up to 50% discounts on essential grocery items. School meal prepping ingredients such as milk, juices, yogurt, chocolates, and fruits can be ordered through the app. And with health being a top priority to talabat and all consumers, a selection of masks, tissues and sanitizers will also be available.

Ihsan Swidan, Regional Director of talabat mart said, “Leveraging the use of modern technologies and stores placed strategically around the city, talabat Mart can prepare each order efficiently and deliver the items in record time. In fact, talabat is now working on making the 20-minute delivery time even shorter despite operating in Cairo, one of the most crowded cities in the world. The team also works on a daily basis to enhance the variety of products and cater to the Egyptian consumer needs.”

Talabat Mart sells almost 5,000 products - all offered in affordable and competitive price points, presenting unbeatable convenience to customers who don’t have to worry about paying more when ordering online. A contributing success factor to talabat Mart is that the products seen by customers on the platform are presented in real-time, eliminating the possibility of shopping for an item that is unavailable.

“As talabat aims to assist Egypt in its digital transformation journey, we are helping shift the Egyptian consumer mindset to using technology by providing an online seamless customer experience. Making the lives of Egyptian consumers easier through technology, as well as creating new job opportunities in each city we operate in are part and parcel of our key focuses,” Hadeer added.

As 30% of all talabat Mart stores in the region are in Egypt and with more than 400 employees, talabat Mart has already been delivering a successful consumer experience, citing positive feedback from Egyptian consumers. The availability of multiple dark stores in Egypt and the use of talabat’s top notch technology has enabled talabat Mart to operate without delay.  This year talabat Mart will expand to add more cities serving a wider consumer base with a promised faster delivery speed. And will be increasing its products’ variety to more than 8,000 items by the end of the year, including products in personal care, home & laundry, beverages as well as imported items.
