- The Great Place to Work® Certification™ is the definitive "employer-of-choice" recognition that companies aspire to achieve.
- The organisation doubled in size during the pandemic, and its culture continued to flourish during a time when many people have worked from home without experiencing in-office culture.
Dubai, UAE: talabat, the MENA region’s leading local tech company, is proud to announce it is now Great Place to Work-Certified™ in the UAE, accredited by the leading global authority on workplace culture. The prestigious award is based entirely on talabat’s current employees’ experience working at the tech organisation.
The Great Place to Work® Certification™ is the definitive "employer-of-choice" recognition that companies aspire to achieve. It is confidential, independent, and the only distinction based entirely on what employees report about their workplace experience – specifically, how consistently they experience a high-trust workplace.
Hanna Nordell, Chief People Officer at talabat, says that talabat is proud of today’s recognition, culminating nearly three years of building a culture and environment that allows employees to flourish and be themselves in the workplace.
‘We are overjoyed to be recognised as one of the best employers in the UAE, and the region as well - by our own employees. When you are working for an organisation, you are generally your harshest critic, and there can sometimes be a sense of grass being greener somewhere else. With this certification it shows that our people definitely do not believe that!’
‘Around three years ago, we set out on an ambitious new course for talabat and our culture, and are proud to say that our people have embraced our culture, truly living it every day - and our success has followed. This award is testament to all of our employees.’
Ibrahim Mougharbel, Managing Director for UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman at Great Place to Work® Middle East, says that talabat stands out in creating a welcoming and friendly environment where people are proud of what they accomplish together.
‘talabat’s employees feel a strong sense of connection to each other and the company, which is an even more impressive achievement in light of the remote work brought on by the pandemic. 91% of employees report feeling a sense of both intimacy and camaraderie, and the same percentage of employees feel connected as a team.
We’re proud to see talabat become the first Great Place to Work-Certified™ tech delivery multinational organisation in the UAE.’
Nordell also revealed that the tech organisation, which doubled in size over the pandemic, was initially worried about what work-from-home would do to the talabat culture which they had worked so hard to achieve. However, through a concerted remote-working engagement plan, they were able to keep on growing the culture - even remotely.
‘What makes this award satisfying is that our culture went through a major test during the middle of a pandemic. With so many new people coming into our organisation and working-from-home, therefore not experiencing ‘in-office culture’ it is pleasing to see that our people’s buy-in to our remote engagement plan and activities, and their contribution to our talabat values has not wavered.’
`If you want to be part of our great workplace , we’re also hiring, so check our vacancies on Linkedin’ said Nordell.
The Great Place to Work® Certification™ is recognised worldwide by employees and employers alike and is the global benchmark for identifying and recognising outstanding employee experience. Every year, more than 10,000 companies across 60 countries apply to get Great Place to Work-Certified™.
