Following international competitive bidding, TAKREER has awarded the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Contract for the BeAAT (Central Environment Protection Facilities) Project to SNC-Lavalin International, Inc of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

This project is being implemented by TAKREER to safely receive, manage, treat and dispose of hazardous waste generated by ADNOC and its Group Companies. The purpose of the project is to ensure human health and the environment are protected by utilizing proven waste treatment technologies that meet stringent Environment Standards.

The site is located west of the Ghayathi Road, close to the Ruwais Refinery and commissioning is scheduled for mid-2006.

The scope of the Project includes waste treatment processes for Thermal Desorption, Centrifugation, Solidification, Incineration, Physical Chemical Treatment, Oil Water Separation, and Landfill in addition to comprehensive waste storage, utility systems, services and administrative facilities.

FICHTNER is the Project Management Consultant (PMC) for the Project and will supervise and manage the EPC Contract. FICHTNER has already completed the FEED Phase and assisted Takreer in the EPC Tender Process and Contract Award.
