Muscat, June 3rd 2014 - Providing human capital solutions for Oman Oil Company (OOC) and its group of companies, Takatuf Oman has recently launched the Project Management Program (PMP) and graduated the first batch of its Essentials of Management Program (EMP). Both programmes are designed to equip manager-level staff with the necessary skillsets to further improve teams' productivity and efficiency, while achieve strong business results for projects across the board.
"Introducing locally-tailored management training programs such as PMP and EMP, Takatuf Oman's main goal is to contribute to the success and growth of OOC and its group of companies' businesses through improving performance excellence. PMP, the newest addition to our portfolio of initiatives will include 25 participants from OOC member companies, government institutions and other private companies. As for the EMP, we recently graduated 13 managers from its pilot year, while 40 are set to join next year's edition. With such all-round schemes in place, we are grooming qualified outstanding business leaders to drive the Sultanate's economic prosperity forward," said Khalid Al Jashmi, CEO of Takatuf Oman.
Designed to train project managers, as well as technical, finance and HR managers, the PMP starts with a five-day intensive workshop. It includes topics related to project planning, initiation, execution, control and conclusion. Next stage will continue in distance learning mode for three months including various group assignments. Participants are required to return for a three-day intensive workshop to review the overall material. Then, they will undergo a preparation course to take the globally-recognized Project Management Institute's exam for project managers to obtain the title of Project Management Professional (PMP) ®.
The 12-month EMP program improves newly appointed managers and supervisors' skills in managing people and business processes, while improving their analytical thinking capabilities. It is divided over six comprehensive training modules with the objective of moving from getting good results to getting great and sustainable ones. In addition, the program provides participants with the mindsets, skillsets, and toolsets to consistently produce high-quality projects exceeding expectations around time, budget and quality.
Taktuf Oman's programs are facilitated by world-class coaches. The PMP is overseen by professionals from ASEAN Project Manager's Center of Excellence (APMX), a global provider of project management related professional services. The EMP is organized in partnership with the global performance improvement company, Franklin Covey Middle East.
