Sultan Telecom company participated in the Gulf exhibition of defense and aviation
The Gulf Defense and Aerospace (GDA) Exhibition's third edition was opened under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and in the presence of HE Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh / Khalid Al Jarrah Al Sabah on the 8th of December 2015. Also present were several delegations of governmental and private companies from various Arab and foreign countries. This exhibition holds a special position as it is one of the largest specialized military exhibitions in Kuwait and the region and it comes under the auspices of the Ministry of Defense. The exhibitors consisted of a large number of major international companies specialized in military and defense technologies and solutions.
The participants in the exhibition - held from 8th to 10th December at the International Fairgrounds - demonstrated a variety of military hardware varying from various sectors; maritime, land and air; including tanks, missile systems, military aircrafts and multipurpose helicopters; offensive and defensive; and for training and simulation programs. Also the latest technological systems were introduced in the field of radar, air and missile defense.
Sultan Telecom, along with its partner OPTOKON, participated in the exhibition with equipment dedicated for the internal military communications. Sultan Telecom, as one of the pioneering companies in the field of communications and communications infrastructure, has made a detailed presentation on modern devices specialized in the field of communications, fiber-optic cables, processing and infrastructure installation for communications networks.
These communications network cables and components are characterized to operate under a very tight security system that counters piracy and espionage, where any attempt to hack the network is automatically detected and the system's related signals pinpoints espionage attempts.
The fiber optic cable utilizes sensors and sends signals and alerts to a monitoring system if there is any motion around the cable. The motion could be due to life forms like animals or humans, or it could be non-life forms like vehicles. The system monitor gives details on the shape and weight of the body based on its natural thermal image.
