Doha, Qatar 23 May 2007: After only one term since its official opening, Compass International School Doha (CISD) has witnessed a fantastic growth, with its student population more than tripled since January 2007.
CISD, the latest addition to the educational scene in Doha, teaches the International Primary Curriculum, something that has been welcomed by parents living in the buzzing capital of Qatar. The school now caters for more than 50 children and another 50 are expected to start next semester.
- At the start of 2007 we had 15 children but now our school is buzzing with life and it seems that there are more children coming in every day, said start-up Head Teacher Rob Owens.
CISD is expecting the growth to surge in the coming months, as the Head Teacher reports on a dramatic increase in requests from parents wanting a tour of the school. When the school will open its doors again in September, more than a 100 children could be walking through the gate at Compass International.
- It is of course very exciting that parents and their children look at CISD as their school of preference, but the best testimony of our quality and success comes from our existing student body, as all students from this school year have signed up for September, Mr Owens continued.
CISD is owned and operated by the WCLS Group, a company with a worldwide reputation, responsible for the educational management of 20 schools in 11 countries. WCLS is also the pioneer behind the development of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), currently used by 260 international and national schools in 40 countries around the world. This deep experience means that CISD is able to offer children in Qatar a truly international educational experience that equips them for a promising academic and professional future in a rapidly changing world.
- What we offer the children is a truly international education. As parents keep moving around the world, they appreciate that their children will continue to follow a common curriculum that is truly international. Although we are a relatively small and new school, we are determined to offer our students state of the art technological equipment that they can benefit from, Mr Owens continued.
Today CISD has over 50 students who enjoy CISD's personalised teaching and learning style, an International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and a team of qualified teachers who have experience from a variety of school systems around the world.
