SIG Combibloc Obeikan, one of the leading system suppliers of aseptic carton packaging and filling machines for beverages and food, received the Best new drink packaging innovation award at the annual Gulfood Awards held on February 19th 2012.
The Middle East's most coveted food and beverage awards were moderated by an international panel of independent industry experts and attracted more than 120 entries from 30 countries in 20 different categories. The Gulfood Awards is bestowed upon the region's food and beverage industry to acknowledge the companies who have reached the very highest standards of excellence.
SIG Combibloc's winning entry, the innovative drinksplus technology highlighted the company's commitment to beverage manufacturers through empowering them to create a wide range of unique beverage concepts. The flexible 'sleeve system' allows enterprising customers fill beverages containing pieces of real fruit, vegetable or cereal grains (up to six millimeters in diameter). The brilliance of this packaging technology also lies in its simplicity - the standard filling machine from SIG Combibloc are fitted to work with the drinksplus recipes using an easy-to-install 'drinksplus kit'.
