Alaidaroos: Shams’ efforts culminated in success
Sharjah:Sharjah Media City (Shams) launched the audition process for the UAE Entertainment Experience, the first of its kind film production project in the Arab world. The launch announcement was made at Roxy Cinema City Walk, and followed the successful auditions in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
Shams is developing the film industry infrastructure in all creative and technical areas of film production, through the UAE Entertainment Experience, it’s pioneering and first of its kind project in the Arab world. Shams is, also, creating a favorable environment for the media and encouraging creativity while enhancing the Emirate’s reputation in the media and creative fields by highlighting local content regionally and globally.
Mr. Shihab Al Hammadi, Director of Sharjah Media City, stressed the importance of beginning the second phase of the UAE Entertainment Experience’s audition following the success of the first phase in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. He clarified that anyone from 13-65 age group is eligible to participate in the audition, while children from 7-12 age group need parent/ guardian prior approval to apply for the audition.
Director of Sharjah Media City added that the first phase of auditions in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi was a huge success with response from talents from different age groups who desired to be part of the UAE Entertainment Experience- which is an interactive, multi-platform production project based on engaging and attracting talents from all age groups and professional backgrounds.
Registration for audition is open at the Entertainment Experience’s e-platform, which is an advanced platform to engage audience in film production process. Those who wish to participate in the UAE Entertainment Experience are required to submit a part of the first 10 minute length script which is published on the UAE Entertainment Experience’s website. They may, also, submit any script of his/ her choice for the audition process by the UAE Entertainment Experience team, which will be headed, during the audition phase, by veteran actor Dr. Habib Ghuloom.
Mr, Mustafa Alaidaroos, Chief Operating Officer of Arab Format Lab, expressed his happiness with the success of the first phase of the audition process in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi the launch of second phase of auditions in Dubai. He praised the professional environment of this project and the high response for participation, saying that this pioneering film project “serves as an added value to the Arab filmmaking industry and another success to the efforts made by Shams”.
He added: “The UAE Entertainment Experience is a unique project that involves a team of filmmaking professionals to inspire talented young creatives who want to pursue a career in filmmaking industry”.
The UAE Entertainment Experience is based on collaboration with the international award winning Entertainment Experience, which was implemented in many countries around the world, including Netherlands, China, South Korea, South Africa and Turkey and received global attention, rapidly maturing and becoming a cornerstone for talent identification and development in motion picture industry in these countries.
Sharjah Media City (Shams) has revealed the names of the dream team that will take part in the Emirates Entertainment Experience. The dream team is comprised of director Nahla Al Fahad (UAE), actors Dr. Habib Ghuloom and Abdullah Haider, writer Mohammed Hassan Ahmed. The Emirates Entertainment Experience will culminate in an Emirati film created by UAE-based talents including scriptwriters, actors, directors and people with sound engineering, cinematographic, lighting, music composition, graphics and interior design skills, who will compete to make the film.
